Mission
BY ACTORS, FOR ACTORS
Why we exist
To The Moon is a professional creative space by actors for actors. We exist to provide actors the opportunity to practice, hone and celebrate our art without paying premium fees for the privilege.
The actors who attend regularly undergo training and need a place to practice, simulate an audition environment, do scene work, meet and network with other actors and to build their own opportunities.
Community of Practice
Generally, there is little opportunity to work even semi-consistently in TV and film in Australia, therefore we don’t believe that “struggling actors” should be paying ridiculous fees just to be able to practice and improve their craft on an ongoing basis and we have realised that there aren’t many opportunities to do this in Melbourne.
As such, we are in this for the same reason you are, to mix, meet, network, and help each other find the space to thrive and improve through deliberate practice.
You bring the work
There is one important distinction to make between us and regular acting spaces - we do not teach you acting, and we do not teach you technique, we expect you to be able to bring this to your work and to the scripts you will receive.
That said, you will no doubt pick up some great learnings by attending our workshops and working with the other actors here.
